Who We Are: Biblical

We believe that Scripture is the inspired, inerrant, authoritative, and sufficient Word of God. Therefore, we strive to be biblical in all that we do.

Inspired

Scripture is breathed-out by God. Scripture was written by men who spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit. (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21)

Inerrant

Because Scripture is God’s Word, it is without error. God is truth. He cannot lie. Therefore, His Word cannot be wrong or contain error. “When all the facts are known, the Scriptures in their original autographs and properly interpreted will be shown to be wholly true in everything they affirm, whether that has to do with doctrine or morality or with the social, physical, or life sciences.” - The Authority and Inerrancy of Scripture

Authoritative

God’s Word is authoritative, for God Himself is the supreme authority in the universe. His Word is Law and must be obeyed.

Sufficient

We do not need any other revelation or instruction from God. Scripture alone tells us all that we need to know for our faith and worship of God.

“The Word of God, which is contained in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments, is the only rule to direct us how we may glorify and enjoy him.”

— Westminster Shorter Catechism Q. 2

Scripture and the Reformed Faith

  • “The Reformed faith takes the Bible with the utmost seriousness. It is but another way of saying that “from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen” (Rom. 11:36). The Reformed faith seeks to maintain the entire teaching of the Bible.” - What Is the Reformed Faith, p. 7

  • “The Reformed faith finds its entire authority in the teaching of the Word of God. The Bible is the only infallible rule of what we are to believe and how we are to live. … God has spoken his final and all-sufficient word with the completion of the canon of Holy Scripture. The Bible and the Bible alone - that is our confession!” - What Is the Reformed Faith, p. 7
